R.I.S.E is a dynamic workforce development initiative designed to empower young adults, ages 18–26, by providing paid apprenticeships that offer hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and real-world job training. This initiative opens doors for participants to explore meaningful career pathways, build essential workplace skills, and contribute directly to their community.
Through R.I.S.E, apprentices are placed at a perse range of partner sites that reflect the wide-ranging interests and needs of our city. These placements include:
Participants gain experience tailored to their placement—ranging from community organizing and youth mentorship to administrative support and event coordination. Every placement is designed to develop both hard and soft skills that enhance employability and career confidence.
To remove barriers to participation, R.I.S.E offers transportation assistance and holistic support through its partnership with Rubicon Programs, the program’s service provider. Rubicon ensures that each participant receives one-on-one guidance, job readiness training, and ongoing mentorship throughout their apprenticeship journey.
Funded in part by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the #CaliforniansForAll Youth Service Corps, R.I.S.E reflects Antioch’s strong commitment to youth empowerment, equitable opportunity, and workforce development.
By investing in education, mentorship, and meaningful job experiences, R.I.S.E helps young adults build a strong foundation for long-term success—while also nurturing the next generation of leaders and professionals in Antioch.
