Traffic Unit

img 3833

The Antioch Police Department’s Traffic Unit is currently comprised of four full time Traffic/Motor Officers and one Sergeant. Officers assigned to the Traffic Unit have specialized training in the areas of major collision investigations, DUI investigations, and accident reconstruction.

The primary goal of the Traffic Unit is to reduce the number of traffic collisions and to encourage traffic safety for our city streets and neighborhoods. The positive impact on this quality of life issue is achieved by working together with the community, the city’s Engineering and Development Services Division, and other local and state agencies through, education, engineering, and enforcement.

The officers assigned to Traffic Unit have utilized police motorcycles off and on since the late 1920’s. One of the greatest benefits of Motor Officers is the connection to the community. Motor Officers are highly visible and are often found at our community schools, parades, and ceremonies.  So, if you see one of our Motor Officers, please come up and say hi.

To report a Traffic Safety issue in your neighborhood, please submit a request directly to the Traffic Unit via online request form, email or leave a message.
