Building Services Division

The Building Services Division is responsible for administering state and local building construction regulations. Building Services Division activities include evaluation of construction documents for compliance with building codes, issuance of building permits, and inspection for construction compliance.

Effective January 1, 2023, the City will enforce the California 2022 Building Codes.

(Closed 12pm – 1pm for lunch)

PERMIT EXEMPTIONS

Permit exempt projects include:

  • Retaining walls three feet (3′) or less in height
  • Slabs on grade (flatwork)
  • Landscape sprinkler systems
  • REPLACEMENT of fences
    • Six feet (6′) maximum height in rear and side yard
    • Three feet (3′) maximum height in front yard

New residential development projects are required to comply with submittal requirements contained in the checklist below. Applicants are required to self-certify that all contents are included in the plan submittal.
